How the breed appeared
To this day, the history of the origin of the first individuals of the Siamese breed remains completely unclear. In the 19th century, animals that were similar to Siamese at that time were first mentioned - the author of the scientific work "Tamra Maew" described a cat with a slender figure and white color, on different parts of the body of which it was possible to fix dark zones.
For a long period of time, representatives of the Siamese breed lived in Thailand (which was previously called Siam). At the same time, only monks and representatives of the royal family could afford to keep a graceful pet at home. At that time, "Siamese" were held in high esteem, and a person who stole such a cat was sentenced to death. After all, it was assumed that this breed brought good luck and helped to successfully solve all matters. In addition, the importance of the role of Siamese cats was determined by the religious aspect, since they not only took part in various religious events, but were also believed to accompany the souls of those who passed into the afterlife.
And only at the end of the 19th century, the "Siamese" found themselves in another world, namely in Britain - after the Siamese king decided to give a couple of animals of this breed to the British ambassador O. Good. The beauty of these exotic creatures attracted the attention of even Queen Victoria, who became a frequent visitor to exhibition events where they took part. In 1901, an important event for this breed took place in Great Britain - the founding of the "Siamese Cat Club". And a year later - in 1902 - the breed standard was approved. The differences of the first "Siamese" were that they had a short body, a round head and a profile that was less graceful. In the fifties of the 20th century, a revision of this standard was carried out, after which representatives of the Siamese breed began to be characterized by greater grace and similarity with modern two-colored beauties, which have a flexible body of a certain length, high paws and wide ears.
